Where no government should go?

AMENDMENT J:

Please vote NO on Amendment J that attempts to redefine marriage. Government does not have the authority to redefine marriage. God has already provided the definition of marriage for us. (Genesis 1-2, Matt 19:4-6)

God created the institutions of marriage, government, and the church. The government is not over either of the other two institutions; God is. The government is not god. The government is also under God's authority, "for there is no authority except that which God has established." (Romans 13:1)

The soil under which the root of killing children has grown is a culture of rotten morality and sexual decay that has depleted and devalued marriage. The commitment and love known as marriage is the rich soil needed by children to grow, mature, and blossom in healthy ways physically, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, socially, financially, and in choices of the will.

All other forms of sexual expression and experimentation are sin in the eyes of our Lord to whom we will each give an account. Sin by any other name is still a sin. We don't have the authority to redefine sin, either. (Lev 18:22, Lev 20:13, 1 Tim 1:10, 1 Cor 6:9, Jude 1:7)

AMENDMENT 79:

Please vote NO on Amendment 79 that attempts to put into the state Constitution a "right" to abortion which is the intentional murder of an innocent human child created in the image of God and created by God. (Psalm 139, John 1:3, Hebrews 11:3)

The government does not give rights to people. The government can only acknowledge those human rights we have already been given by our Creator. Any rights we have come from God. The government cannot give the "right" to kill innocent children when God has already condemned it. (Exodus 20:13, Deuteronomy 5:17, Romans 13:9, Matt 5:21, Mark 9:42)

Only God can determine who should live and die, by what means, and when. That's above any human or government job description.

God's law is perfect. God created the standard for laws. We should try to match God's standard so that God's will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Our US Constitution already grants all human beings the right to continue living. We just need to interpret and enforce it.

These two amendments are in direct violation and opposition to God's perfect law. They are in defiance and in rebelliousness toward our Creator. These are moral and spiritual issues being played out in law, which the body of Christ has as our responsibility and privilege to speak against on the moral authority of God's Word written and preserved by God in Scripture.

As God's people, it is incumbent upon us to put on the glasses of Christ through the lens of Scripture and prescription of the Holy Spirit to see most clearly the ballot before us and the plight of our nation. We are not voting for a savior. That position has already been taken. We are voting for fallible human beings who will best represent us and preserve the rights given by God for all human beings.

Lord, thank you for bringing down Roe. Thank you for entrusting this nation to us and the freedoms we've enjoyed. Please help us to be a city on a hill. We ask your protection over this election and our families. We repent and rely on you to be our Savior. To you belong all praise, glory, and honor. Through Jesus we pray. Amen.
